Hi, my name is Dan, and this is not for you.

The Tree of Life (Terrence Malick, 2011)
Beginners (Mike Mills, 2010)
This film comes out today and I want to see it (preferably before I leave for Bonnaroo). but then there’s also that Werner Herzog Q&A (after screenings of Cave of Forgotten Dreams, which I haven’t seen yet) on Sunday/Monday that I want to go to, hmm… and I also want to see X-Men: First Class because of the flawless cast. not to mention I want to (bring my mum) to see The Tree of Life (that’ll most likely happen on Tuesday, for free, unless I end up making a last minute trip to the city to pick up my Genre Studies paper, talk to the film department about my internship, and see Beginners at the Clearview Chelsea). I sort of want to see Submarine too.
“i trust you.”
so I just purchased tickets to see:
- The Tree of Life (tonight, which will mark my return to the Landmark Sunshine Cinema for the first time in a long time… the last time I saw a film there was The Road, I believe, in November or December of 2009), and
- Weekend (at BAMcinématek as part of BAMcinemaFest… been waiting to see this film since it screened at SXSW in March)
I am very happy with these purchases.
